We have been very happy in our hotel in Istanbul. Recommended by friends primarily because of its friendly staff and great location it was everything we could have wanted.
The Hotel Niles, Ordu Caddesi Dibekli Cami Sokak No: 13 Beyazat, Istanbul.
Here is what it looked like from the front – it’s on a corner. Our room was on the third level.
Here is our room, we are very happy with it. Plenty of room. A nice desk and a couch. All used over the course of our week here.
Enough hanging space, mini bar and safe behind trellised doors. Also a microwave that we didn’t use.
Great bathroom – all marble. You feel the marble bowl next to the shower and our the water over yourself using the brass pannier. Something childish and comforting pouring water over yourself. Fun! And a lovely light.
Beautiful things all around us.
The staff were indeed very friendly and helpful. We saw the Manager, Cemal, every morning at breakfast on the rooftop terrace.
What a pretty stairwell we use every morning. It is lovely coming up and seeing the ships out in the Sea of Mamara waiting for their turn to travel through the Bosphorus.
It is very conveniently located. Close to a tram stop at Beyazit. Female gave us an Istanbul card which is similar to Myki although we could use it for the five of us. We loaded it up with TL (Turkish Lira) and used it often. Very convenient. The system was easy to get around as well. We were in easy walking distance of the big tourist spots (Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque etc) and of a lot of different restaurant precincts. You could eat here as well. Ordering from nearby restaurants that our Hotel staff would collect and then serve upstairs or in your room (I think – we didn’t do that). The children also made use of the rooftop bar which is open all night.
If you are thinking about visiting Istanbul we recommend the Hotel Niles. Check it out here
