Having blogged about my Ten Star films here and my Eight Star films here (I didn't give any Nine Stars) here are my Seven Star films from this year's MIFF. Remembering these films some weeks after seeing them I wonder a bit about my harsh judging! Comes from seeing around forty films over a couple of weeks. MIFF 2022 – Eight Star Films
I've written about this year's 10⭐️ MIFF films here. Now, looking at my contemporaneous tweets I find I didn't give any films nine stars. So we move directly to the 8⭐️ ones. This really demonstrates the difficulty in grading festival films. The great ones stand out then there are a lot of really good films that you would recommend … [Read more...] about MIFF 2022 – Eight Star Films
MIFF 2022 – Best Films

Coda This is an American remake of a French film The Bélier Family that I've seen ages ago. I thought this remake - as often happens with … [Read more...] about MIFF 2021 – The Rest
MIFF2021 – Three & Two Star Films
Here are my second best films from this year's festival. It's always a bit arbitrary distinguishing between films. Seen outside the festival I probably would regard these as all five star films! Ablaze *** A documentary about the Aboriginal activist Bill Onus didn’t know much about. His story should certainly be told and here it is told well … [Read more...] about MIFF2021 – Three & Two Star Films
