I've been asked about the place where we stayed in Paris. An example of word of mouth booking - a friend of a friend etc. It was recommended by a work colleague of Joe's whose friends had stayed here. It was located at 20 Rue Rambateau. Behind big wooden doors. You had to key in a code next to it. There are a lot of these double doors leading off … [Read more...] about Chez nous

In the evening we went to the opera. The new opera house on the Place de Bastille looks ordinary by day - although I still like the building unlike Edmund White. But at night it … [Read more...] about Opera Nationale de Paris
Markets Mosques Museums
We've bought a second Museum Pass and so were intent on seeing a couple of museums today (Sunday 23 March). I do recommend these passes. You can get them for two or four days and they let you avoid queues. The day dawned cold but clear. So off we went back past the Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame. These places have become so familiar! We found the … [Read more...] about Markets Mosques Museums
