We saw two operas in consecutive weeks at the end of September. First up, on the 19th was Norma. Here's its very refined looking programme. It was at the Athenaeum which I like as a venue even though they say the acoustics are not great. It's a beautiful looking theatre with great atmosphere. We were in the front row; this close to the orchestra! … [Read more...] about More Opera!

Back to Laura
In early September we went back to Laura, the high end restaurant at Point Leo Estate. We'd been due to go there at the end of last year but had to cancel due to my ill-health. So we re-convened at a place called The Orchard in Thomas Road, Red Hill South. When we originally booked it was a B&B, now it is only a B. But a very pleasant one. Colourful animals along the median strip in Sturt Street. … [Read more...] about Ballarat Excursion In Three Parts – Part One – White Night
Harry Potter – Again!
Who would have thought we needed more Harry Potter? After seven books and eight films did we really need Harry Potter And The Cursed Child. I didn't really think so; despite having very fond memories of the books and films. Had it not been for a serendipitous availability of tickets I probably wouldn't have bothered booking months in advance … [Read more...] about Harry Potter – Again!
